Abstract

To study the effect of α-lipoic acid on glucose reserve and moving capacity of training rats, SD rats were exercised in the great intensity when SD rats were taken α-lipoic acid. The indexes such as blood glucose, hepatic glycogen, muscle glycogen, blood serum insulin and glucagon were determined so that some information about the effects were obtained. The results indicate that all indexes mentioned above for the treated group of SD rats are obviously higher than that for the control group (P<0.01). Additionally, the moving capacity of SD rats taken α-lipoic acid is enhanced in comparison with the control group (P<0.01).
